Identifying skin types

This brief questionnaire will give you a good approximation of your skin type (your genetic tendencies to tan
and/or burn when exposed to sunlight/UV radiation). All skin types should use caution in avoiding sunburn -
whether outdoor or indoor - which is always damaging to the skin. Build a tan slowly and do not attempt to
achieve levels of tanning that are unnatural for your skin type. Please tan responsibly whether outdoor or
indoors, and be sure to properly protect your eyes.

If you have Skin Type I you should use extreme caution. Studies indicate that Type I's may be at particular
increased risk of melanoma with UV exposure. It is strongly recommended that Skin Type I's consider spray
tanning as an alternative and taking Vitamin D supplements to replace any shortfall due to avoiding UV. You
should consult a physician for advice regarding Vitamin D.
